Client Rights & Access to Records
In accordance with Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC) requirements and House Bill 4224 (89th Regular Session), effective September 1, 2025, this practice is committed to protecting your rights regarding access to your health information and the complaint process. Texas Health & Safety Code §181.105 requires healthcare providers to prominently provide information regarding access to records, licensing authority contact information, and how to file a complaint.
Your Rights as a Client
As a client, you have the right to:

Be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion

Receive information about the counseling process, including risks, benefits, and alternatives

Participate in treatment planning and ask questions at any time

Confidentiality and privacy within the limits of Texas law and professional ethics

Request access to your clinical records

Request corrections to your records when appropriate

File a complaint with the appropriate licensing or regulatory agency without fear of retaliation

Discontinue services at any time

You may request a copy of your health records by submitting a written request to this practice. Requests may be submitted via secure email or mailed to the address below.

Under Texas law, records requests are generally processed within 15 business days of receipt when applicable requirements are met.
