How are your services different from general therapy?
While many therapists support anxiety, stress, and life transitions, perinatal mental health is a specialized area of care that requires additional training and a deeper understanding of the emotional, physiological, and relational changes that can occur during pregnancy, postpartum, and the transition into parenthood.
My practice includes specialized training in perinatal mental health, which allows me to recognize and support experiences that are often missed or misunderstood in general therapy settings. This can include postpartum anxiety, intrusive thoughts, birth trauma, fertility challenges, pregnancy after loss, maternal rage, identity shifts, nervous system overwhelm, and the invisible mental load of caregiving.
Rather than viewing these concerns in isolation, I consider the full context of what is happening in this season of life including hormonal shifts, sleep disruption, trauma responses, and the intensity of role transition. My work is trauma-informed and grounded in supporting both symptom relief and deeper emotional healing.
You deserve care from someone who understands the complexity and nuance of maternal mental health.
What can I expect from online counseling?
Online counseling provides you with easy to access confidential therapy services. Sessions are conducted from a HIPAA compliant platform that allows for secure virtual sessions. Online therapy is very similar to in-person therapy in that some of the same techniques and interventions can be used online. You'll be able to schedule your appointment, get appointment reminders, have access to asynchronous messaging, and make payments online. You have the opportunity to engage in therapy from where you feel most comfortable! It allows for convenience if you are a busy individual and don't have the opportunity to commute to your appointment. It is important to note that online counseling is not suited for individuals in crisis or facing a life threatening emergency. If you feel you are in crisis, please call 911 or visit your nearest hospital.
I have never been in counseling, is it normal to feel nervous or anxious?
Absolutely! A range of emotions can be felt when trying a new experience. Counseling is no exception, and it can sometimes feel intimidating. That can bring about feelings of worry, anxiousness, fear, and/or excitement. The counseling process allows for us to discuss events that you may consider to be traumatic or hurtful which could cause distress, anxiety, and even anger. I can walk you through this process and discuss these feelings more in depth during our session to help you feel more comfortable. However, with change comes discomfort, and part of the counseling process is to learn to be okay with not being okay.
What is the rate per session and payment options?
The cost of a 60 minute initial assessment (1st session) is $125. All following individual counseling sessions are $100 per 50-55 minute session. 30 minute sessions are available if suitable for your treatment needs. I accept select insurance plans from Aetna, United Healthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, Cigna, Oxford, and Oscar Health. Certain behavioral health plans are categorized as "carve-out" plans from an insurance agency that I am not contracted with to accept. Session rates using insurance plans vary depending on your specific plan. For detailed information regarding your specific insurance costs, it's advisable to reach out to your insurance representative directly. Upon providing your insurance card and date of birth, I can also offer an estimated cost for your sessions. Medicare and Medicaid plans are not accepted at this time.

Why do you require a consultation before adding someone to the waitlist?
I require a free 15-minute consultation prior to joining the waitlist so we can briefly connect and determine whether my services feel like an appropriate fit for your needs and goals. During this conversation, you’re welcome to share what’s bringing you to therapy, ask questions about my approach, and get a sense of what working together may look like.
This consultation also allows me to ensure that I’m working within my scope of practice and able to provide the level of support you’re seeking. Therapy is a collaborative relationship, and I believe it’s important that both client and therapist feel aligned before moving forward.
While the consultation is not a therapy session, it can help us both make a more informed decision about whether joining the waitlist feels like the right next step. Take the next step towards joining the waitlist here.
